Buffalo King, Buffalo King Megaways or Untamed Megaways? How Pragmatic Play’s three Buffalo King slots differ
Short answer — Pragmatic Play lists three Buffalo King slots on its official site. Buffalo King (RTP 96.06%) is a 6×4 game whose free-spin round can be very long: 3–6 bonus symbols award 8 to 100 free spins. Buffalo King Megaways (96.52%) has over 200,000 ways and the highest RTP of the three, and pays up to 100x the bet just for triggering the bonus. Untamed Megaways (96.02%) is the only one whose wild multipliers grow during free spins: each time a wild is part of a win, every wild multiplier rises by x1. We read all three pages on 19 October 2026.
They share a theme and a name, but the bonus round works differently in each. If you liked one, this guide shows what to expect from the other two.
The three games side by side
| Game (official page) | RTP | Expected cost per ₱10,000* | Grid | Free spins trigger | Wild multipliers |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Buffalo King | 96.06% | ₱394 | 6×4 | 3–6 bonus symbols: 8–100 free spins | Wilds 2x, 3x or 5x in free spins; multipliers “stacking” |
| Buffalo King Megaways | 96.52% | ₱348 | Megaways, 6 reels, 200,000+ ways | 4–6 bonus symbols: up to 100x the bet and 12–22 free spins | All wilds carry 2x, 3x or 5x in free spins |
| Buffalo King Untamed Megaways | 96.02% | ₱398 | Megaways | 4+ scatters: 10–20 free spins | Wilds 1x–5x; in free spins all wild multipliers rise by x1 each time a wild is in a win |
*Expected cost = (100% − RTP) × ₱10,000. This is our calculation of a long-run average, not what one session costs. Everything else is taken from each linked Pragmatic Play page, under “Basic Game Info” and the game description.
Free spins: long rounds, a trigger prize, or growing wilds
Buffalo King: the widest range
The original’s page says 3–6 bonus symbols award 8–100 free spins, and 2–6 more during the feature add 5–100 extra spins. No other Buffalo King game comes close to that ceiling. Most triggers will not be at the top of the range: the page gives the range but not how often each count is reached.
Megaways: an instant prize on trigger
Buffalo King Megaways pays “up to 100x the bet” when 4–6 bonus symbols land, together with 12–22 free spins. Three or more bonus symbols during the feature add five spins, and the page says retriggers have “no limits”.
Untamed Megaways: multipliers that build up
In Untamed Megaways, wilds carry a multiplier of 1x to 5x. During free spins, “each time a Wild appears in a winning combination, all Wild multipliers are increased by x1 for the duration”. As an illustrative example of our own: if wilds have already been in three wins, a wild that started at 2x is now worth 5x. That is the opposite of the fixed 2x/3x/5x wilds in the other two games.
What the RTP gap means in pesos
On ₱10,000 of total bets, the expected long-run cost is ₱348 for Buffalo King Megaways and ₱398 for Untamed Megaways, by our calculation, a ₱50 difference. The original sits close to Untamed at ₱394. Over a single session these gaps disappear into normal variance, especially in games where a free-spin round can last 100 spins. The RTP your platform runs may also differ from the provider’s headline, so check the information screen inside the game.
Which Buffalo King to open
- For the longest possible free-spin rounds on a fixed 6×4 grid, choose Buffalo King.
- For the highest RTP of the three and a trigger prize of up to 100x, choose Buffalo King Megaways.
- For wild multipliers that grow as the round goes on, choose Untamed Megaways, noting its lower RTP.
- Whatever you pick, confirm the RTP and the bonus rules in the game’s paytable before you play.
Before you play
Online gaming in the Philippines is for adults only (21+), so check the age rule and the licence of the platform you use. Set a budget and a time limit before you start. A longer bonus round is not a guarantee of a bigger result.
